People are Quick to Judge When They Don’t Find Something They Can Relate To.

Hi guys, I wanted to talk about this topic for quite sometime because I can’t believe that at 25, I still find people who will judge you for who you are, simply because they can’t relate to you. Honesty, i thought this was something that only happened in high school, but apparently, it happens constantly throughout your different stages of life (whichever one you’re in). It’s disappointing, sad and I find we need to move forward. Mentally.

We all know that we love to feel appreciated and loved. We love to feel like we’re part of a team and we love to feel appreciated for who we genuinely are without having to lie about it or adjust ourselves to someone else’s preference. Occasionally though, we find that one person in a group who doesn’t like anything about you, and no matter how much you try to change for them to like you, they still won’t change their opinion of you. It feels as though, no matter what you do, they will find something else they won’t like. Which is so disappointing, I know!

Even though we love to fit in, feel accepted for who we are and feel loved unconditionally. We have to be aware that sometimes, some people, will just not vibe with how we roll, and that’s completely okay. Even if you can’t see it in the moment, or you find yourself frustrated and confused because you just don’t understand why they don’t like you, even if you haven’t done anything wrong. We have to just accept this and distance ourselves to protect our spirits and gravitate toward people who appreciate us and love us simply for being ourselves.

We just need to switch our mindset into, “okay, this person doesn’t like me. Good to know, I don’t see why not and I don’t care to know, because I love myself completely, and I will focus on those who feel the same”. This mindset will benefit our spirit and happiness in the long run.

It’s challenging but it is necessary.

Ultimately, those people who find the littlest thing to judge you on, are reflecting something they dislike about themselves. They are jealous they don’t have what you have and are trying to hurt you or are hurting about something else and taking it out on you…. Simple. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, “Hurt people, Hurt people.” And 9 times out of 10, people who want to intentionally hurt you, who find things about you they think are stupid or even who shoot you down for something your excited about, shows more about how they feel about something they’re going through than about what you’re going through. It’s just unfortunate that the way people cope is through hurting other people, it’s just completely wrong!

When we experience these things. We tend to feel alone, lonely and like there is something wrong with us, and that forces us to want to change who we are for the sake of someone to like us, appreciate us or love us, even if it’s not who we truly are.

I’m simply reminding you that you don’t have to put up with that.

  1. Guilty of focusing on horrible people. 😊 But I can relate to this as an artist who works in an abstract form. My work picks up on the idea that people become outraged at a harmless thing simply because they aren’t expecting it. Being around people who are not the same helps us to solve problems faster.
