Someone else’s success isn’t your failure.

We’re all individuals
We weren’t born equally the same, our experiences are different, what we feel might be the same, but we all experience it at different times; I believe, when the universe feels we’re ready for it.
I try not to focus my energy on other’s people’s success, it brings a lot of negative energy to me, and although I can use that negative energy to fuel me to focus on my acting, ultimately I end up feeling like a failure.
That’s what happens when I look at someone else doing very well in acting, my energy goes from “I’m going to make it”, to “what is missing? What am I doing wrong? What is wrong with me? What are they doing that I am not” and it’s just a downhill roller-coaster from there.
It’s such a bad thing to do to myself.
Thinking these negative thoughts aren’t hurting anybody but me, I bring bring myself down and my self-confidence gets low and it’s such an endless cycle if I continue on checking up on my friend’s success.
This is one of the major reasons why I hate social media (I can be off of it for months!)
I was talking to my friend the other day about this and I am always talking about how the universe will send you gifts when you’re ready, wether they’re good or bad. (Everything happens for a reason.)
Not only that, but I’m a strong believer and embracer of individuality. I believe that we’re all different and experience life in our own way.
The person next to me isn’t any better or any less than who I am, we are just uniquely different.
When I search for the bio of a great actor that inspires me, and I try to compare him/her to another great actor, I start to realize that their experiences are completely different, their success came from totally different backgrounds! It wasn’t like each copied one another to each individual to find the same exact success, their journeys were totally different!
And I’m pretty sure neither of them were wasting time comparing themselves to each other.
This isn’t only with acting as well. I think this is with pretty much everything, we all have our own journeys and experiences and our point of view is different from each other, why not just embrace our journey and appreciate that what we’re going through is our own story to tell instead of someone else’s story book.
Life would be a lot happier for sure!

Focus on yourself and your journey will get all the better.
