I was in the train today and there was this guy that was a bit chubby looking in my direction. He was staring at this other guy, who was a lot heavier than him.
The one that was doing the staring seemed very conceited and looked like he “THOUGHT” he was the “Shit” (maybe he felt like wearing beats was a big deal? I’ll never understand…ANYWAY)…the guy he was staring at looked average built, nothing special to see here!
I was staring for a while and the bit- chubby guy (the one staring) and I noticed disgust! He kept eyeballing him up and down, with disapproval, like he was better than him… he just seemed absolutely disgusted!
I was so shocked, and angry!!!
Why do you feel better than him? Why do you disapprove of him? What makes you feel such strong emotion by just someone else’s appearance?
I’m not just talking about him, there are a lot of people out there that behave exactly like that.
When I have my hair done and I have makeup on with my contact lenses, and I look different from when I wear my glasses and my hair is up and I’m in sweats, people treat me different. I get a lot more attention when everything is done than when is not, and I’m not just talking about males, I mean, FROM EVERYONE.
We’re currently living in an era where people are valuing more material things than the genuine connection you can have with another human being.
Isn’t that sad?
Don’t you want to, for a second, strip away from the ego and connect.?
There’s this constant competition of people wanting to top one another all the time, for anything, and my question to you is…Does it matter? Will it matter in the future.?
This guy that was staring had such a huge ego, from the look on his face, I sensed he felt like he was so much better than the bigger dude.. But what was going through my head was: What makes you so much better than him? You’re riding the public transportation just like him, both are wearing clothes, there was nothing specific that made him better than the other guy.
Nothing you have makes you any better than someone who doesn’t have what you have… does that make sense?
No amount of money, no amount of clothes, friends, nothing!
We are both born bare, and we will both die, every single human being or should I say species? has the exact same fate. Anyway, you get my point!
What makes you different is what you go through in life, the challenges you face, that’s about it.
Money can have it’s benefits, but it won’t buy happiness… You can have all the friends in the world and still feel alone in life…
If you think about it, is the simplicity of things that will make life a lot better, genuine love and experiences is what will matter in the end.
Quality over Quantity any day.
